First up is the Lumi Recovery Pod, the baby of the Lumi Ice Bath range. Built for portability, its 320 litre capacity still gives you ample room. Built with 3 layers of insulated thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), a combination of plastic and rubber that is very durable and particularly good at handling extremes of temperature, it will maintain the cold temperature of the water without being affected by external temperatures.
With the Thermo Lid installed between dips, it will maintain even normal cold tap water at a temperature of 15°C or below when set up outside. The benefits of cold therapy begin at 15°C or below, which means you may not even need ice. The additional All Weather Cover will keep out debris and insects too. However, it is not included in the price of this model but may be purchased as an optional extra.

The Lumi Recovery Pod MAX Ice Bath is the bestseller in the Lumi Ice Bath range. It combines affordability with premium quality and has a bunch of free extras thrown in. It has 100 litres extra capacity compared to the smaller Recovery Pod, so it’s a fair bit bigger. It uses the same high-quality materials but uses 5 layers of insulation instead of 3, making it better and keeping in the cold.
You’ll also receive a free 50 litre dry bag for storage or carrying wet belongings, an All Weather Cover to keep out the elements and a thermometer so you know exactly what temperature the water is, all included in the price. This makes it excellent value for money and well worth upgrading to the MAX.

The 2 PRO models are constructed very differently from the pod models. This is because they are designed to be connected to the Lumi Thermo CT1 Chiller/Heater, so they are able to withstand more extreme temperatures. Built using quality materials with a thick rubber hardened-wall construction, they are incredibly durable with unbeatable insulation and are supremely comfortable.
The Lumi Ice Bath PRO range is for those ice bath enthusiasts or pro athletes who want convenience and better recovery through colder temperatures. With the Thermo CT1 Chilller/Heater connected, the water stays clean through the particle filtration and ozone cleaning system and can be kept at temperatures as low as 3°C. Of course, you can order the PRO models without the chiller and still enjoy superior insulation, but you would be missing out on the incredible features you get from attaching the CT1.
For example, you can control the temperature over WiFi through the accompanying app, which is super convenient. But what really makes this special is the temperature range. The Lumi Recovery PRO Ice Bath is the last product in the Lumi Ice Bath range. The main difference between the PRO Ice Bath and the PRO Ice Barrel is, of course, the shape. The bath design means that it is able to fit up to two people in, so if you enjoy a social ice bath (or hot tub), choose the Ice Bath over the Ice Barrel.
You also bathe differently in the Ice Bath because you are able to sit on the bottom and stretch out, where you would crouch down in the barrel. It all depends on your personal preference.
Lastly, the footprint may be a factor for you to consider if you have limited space, so check the dimensions before making the decision on whether to purchase the barrel or the bath.
